Cbank appoints interim management at Defence Industrial Bank
MOSCOW, Sep 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank has appointed the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) as a provisional administration at the Defence Industrial Bank (DIB), one of the country’s 100 largest banks, for six months, the regulator said Friday.
In early September, DIB introduced restrictions on opening and replenishment of deposits and, as claimed by clients, restricted deposit payments and money transfers. A source said earlier that the central bank disconnected DIB from its Banking Electronic Speedy Payment System (BESP) and ordered the bank to restrict attraction of individual deposits.
DIB has applied to the Prosecutor General’s office and filed a suit with the Moscow Arbitration Court complaining about the central bank’s instructions.
According to RIA Rating, DIB ranked 89th as of late June with assets standing at 64.2 billion rubles. In accordance with the bank’s latest financial report, personal deposits with the bank exceed 30 billion rubles.
